There is no way its road salt as road never gets salted. 

Will get more pictures tomorrow if I remember it so a big area woodland area has it right to back behind houses.

Had a bit of a walk about and got more pictures, first picture is only a part of a shelter belt which is about 300m that is affected. There is no signs of dark lesions.

I was wrong saying Leylandi where affected they are not.
