T540i xp issues

I have a t540i xp top handled chainsaw and it’s just started playing up. When I take the chain brake off the light still flashes as if it was on and the chain won’t spin. It does sometimes decide to work which makes me think there’s a loose connection somewhere in the wiring, or perhaps a sensor somewhere that could be faulty. I’m struggling to find many part diagrams or parts that it could be. Has anyone else had this problem and managed to resolve it?

Thanks for your response. Can you get new switches for them or is it not that straight forward? I’ve not had a chance to split the saw in half yet but wondering if I’m better off getting someone else to have a look if it’s a bit of a complex task.

split the saw, remove the control board, remove the oil tank and wiring, from the other side strip the chain brake clutch and drum, remove the motor, remove all the screws and split the bar pad assembly from the handle casing, here you will find the the micro switch, lift it from its housing and fit somthing behind it to space it out, re assemble.

Not really a helpful comment, it’s an hours work to make the saw good again, if you are just going to right off every battery product because it takes you to long, or you don’t want to, it’s a sad reflection on your business, battery products are here to stay.

Its not me that writes them off though....its the customer and how much he wants to spend. I am happy to repair anything to keep it going, but if the customer isnt prepared to pay to do that, then there is no option. I dont work for nothing and im not a charity either.

Where is your dealership sir, maybe I know it or even you.
