No problem. You need to have confidence in your kit, and it's not going to fail an inspection 6 months down the line. At least if you get something from DMM you'll have it in writing that it's safe. Good to see you doing a thorough check as I bet a lot of folk would of missed it 👍

Thank's a million buddy! The top one looks like mine, off center locknut. Not sure about the others.

I think I'll just remove the shackle and check with calipers. Will post my finding here.

I phoned DMM after a week, got an answer phone and hung up, but they actually phoned me back an hour later!

Customer service had got my email but we're waiting for an engineer to get around to looking at the photo.

They requested some video of the sticking gate.

Are the gates closing quite right on yours? Not the green tri-lock barrel, but the actual gate and key interface? It scapes as it closes on mine.

They felt fine to me. I will double check tomorrow 👍

You would think, after decades of making self-lockers, making an effective and smooth closing gate would be absolutely attainable by every manufacturer now.

The cynic in me suspects retailers in UK & EU have a pile of borderline lemons saved up for Republic Of Ireland customers.

Oftentimes the return isn't worth the headache. Probably Iceland get the same treatment and the Canary islands.

The UK have been very decent the few times I've really had to return stuff though, in fairness.

Fear not, the cynic in you can rest assured the it’s not just Ireland, Iceland and the Canaries that shoddy self-lockers.

They are endemic in the UK also.
