Just another burglary.

Just had a call from my old logging partner in Westcliff on Sea in Essex who had his secure barn broken into last night. The thieves stole his brand new saw, which I think was a Stihl 260. They were only after tools as they left all our fishing gear alone as far as he could tell, apart from emptying a red Dynamite Bait bucket which he assumes they used to carry other as yet unidentified items. I will post the serial number later if he has it, plus any more information on missing gear.

Looks like my reels have gone walkabout, 4 Shimanos, 3 Mitchells (2 mint 300's and one 300S) plus a couple of Abus and a really nice ali centrepin so I will have some shopping to do when the insurance pays out. Not been over to check yet to see if anything else is missing from my kit but rods are supposedly untouched. Mainly hoping that my floats are still there cos I've been collecting them since I was a kid.

Went round to tot up the damage and it was better than I feared. My mate lost his new saw, a Stihl ms250c, s/no 171479205, fitted with an 18" bar which he has also security marked with the date he bought it, as well as various other bits and pieces. I lost 5 reels and one rod, a black 2 1/4 tc carp rod with hand-written spec. The reels were;

Shimano 4500 Baitrunner

Mitchell 300S

Shimano Sedona 3500 GTE

Abu Cardinal Max 4

Abu 507 Mk II

all in cases with spare spools.

Please keep your eyes open on Ebay etc.
