A sheer crack infected by ustulina?

 

 

This tree was drilled, lifted by teleporter & replanted by British gas when they layed a mains across the heath about 15 years ago.

I'd imagine the decay colomns down from that puncture wound.

 

Didn't see any signs of Ust, but it may well be in attendance.

 

The slime is worth popping back for, to see what emerges.

 

Quite possibly Fuligo

Whilst out watching the stable lads & lasses having their dawn ride out, I stumbled opon these sitting next to each other in a little Beech & Pine plantation at Warren Hill in Newmarket.

 

Kretzschmaria in the Beech & perhaps Phaelous schweinitizii running amok with some other in the Pine?
