guys i was asked to price the removal of a tree that sat exactly along the boundary of 2 gardens, the 'owner' wants it removed but im a lil fearful that the nextdoor neighbour may kick up if i go ahead and claim the tree is his etc etc:confused1:.

im sure many of us have come across this before, was just wonderin how everyone deals with it? i was thinking of getting a signed disclaimer from each 'owner' before i carry out any work at all. any thoughts?

cheers guys :001_smile:

It isn't really your problem, the customer is contracting you to take down the tree, as long as you have your permission LA wise. If there is a problem then it's between the neighbours to sort out

try n have a talk with both neighbors if they havn't already done so, we did one last week that was 40/60, we cut it down for the 60%owner and couldnt (tried 5times) get anyone in at 40%house, got a call next day from a very upset lady, 'where are the birds going to go now?' might have got a planting job off her as well haha

tbh honest mate, stick in your quote, your terms and leave it at that, being best buddy is a nightmare, you will spend hours at their beckon call, and if someone else gets the job and a world of hassle its no biggy. trust me on this one, i have been there loads of times and i would never learn, trying to get everyone to be buddies and cgase the money. it aint worth the hassle, i have ended up out of pocket on this type of jobs.

:congrats:

Done exactly the same and also too many times.

You can end up pissed an annoyed, lose loads of hours messing about then not even want to do the job.

That or one call to the neighbour to say what your doing and if they start with can you meet me on site to talk through it etc then just let the customer deal with and get back to you if they sort it all out.
