Inverted Saw Horse for Scab Wood.

I’m wondering why not have ‘pegs’ for the toe board allowing a far more secure attachment and you’re not going to cut them up when running a saw down? I’ve done similar at 14”spaces so all I have to do is run the saw down the uprights and off falls 10” cuts. I sell these as fire pit logs to avoid having to split down

Ah cool. Any pictures?

How much do you sell the 10” cuts for?

Typo - 14” space for 14” ‘logs’! I fill up a bulk bag and keep it in the polytunnel until it sells so it can be any degree of moisture tbh and all species of wood, hence fire pit use. A bulk bag I just ask £50 to clear it, I was filling the bonfire or giving to a local tree surgeon for chip before.
Logs go in wooden crates and are stored in the poly tunnel til sub 20% moisture.

I’ve gone for 16” spacing.

I like the idea of “fire pit” use.

Will see how it goes. I can see me using everything I can produce as I’ll have 47kw worth of Stoves in the house by the end of the summer.

Slabs, scabs or backs. I find I use all three words interchangeably.

I must admit I don’t like to use the word slabs as I sell slabs/boards and it can be a bit confusing when discussing with others when you use the same word for the produce and the waste.

Very often they get used as fencing particularly if Larch or Doug, so very little waste, but if you can burn it all then zero waste👍

Folk ask for them for that reason but look seriously surprised when I expect money for them. 🤣

I tell them that they burn good and will go through my stove.

Only my mum and wife call me that when I’m in trouble. 😁😁😁

I don’t know if hedge laying is even a thing this far north?
