Will deffo keep me eye open for that one, I love war films but when is someone gonna make a Brit film. I'd much rather see what our blokes went through.

Unlikely, as most productions are funded by Yanks, or with the American market in mind. As they call the shots, you're highly unlikely to see Brits involved unless they are portrayed as incompetent, upper-class twits, or they're playing Americans - as in ''Band of Brothers''.:001_smile:

While we're on the subject, it's about time the Soviets got a bit of credit for winning WW2. Do you realise for example that D-Day doesn't even make it into the ''top ten'' battles of the European theatre?

If you made a film of Paddy Mayne it might not be good watching as his injuries, age and alcoholism that effectively ruled his life after the war were really troubling him. His exploits on the field of rugby and battle, his sheer couragousness nd integrity were indeed legendary but this period would have been overshadowed by his dark times. What a soldier tho'.

Yes, tragic end but then he was always one to burn out rather than fade away, and he made a helluva impression in his 40yrs on Earth. Apparently his home town came to a standstill on news of his death. Still make a great subject for a film though, after all, movies like ''Born on the 4th July'' are hardly cheery.:001_smile:
