carb problems husky

could be anything, could be piston rings worn causing low compression, not drawing fuel through the carb, could be jets blocked in the carb, or a whole load of other things, such as blocked tank breathers,

 

 

my first port of call would be get the carb stripped down and then put through a parts washer, then take it from there,

the old ones got knackered cause the gudgeon pin retaining clip snapped and got wedged between the piston and cylinder and scored the hell out of both. havent pressure tested it though as i dont have the kit. surley if there was no pressure it wouldnt fire with fuel in the air intake would it?

Hasn't started without me bypassing the carb. It's had all new gaskets when I done the piston etc. I will strip the carb down today cause the fuel lines look good to me and produce fuel when disconected from the carb.
