The Hull City Council Grounds Maintenance Team requires a arboricultural operative to join its busy tree maintenance section. The team is involved with all aspects in the management of the City's tree stock.

The primary duties of the postholders will be to work as part of the operations unit, undertaking a range of arboricultural tasks including pruning, felling and chipping.

The successful candidates must have proven experience in arboricultural operations.

Some evening and weekends may be required.

Hi Mike,
The problem you have is the same as every council in Britain.
£19-20k a year is an unacceptably low wage for a qualified professional arborist.
There’s a company offering £28k a year for school leavers to train as arborists.
Best of luck [emoji106]

Councils pay about the same regardless of location…
It not a Hull thing. It a national policy.

Yep not a great wage but the 37 hrs per week, job security (plus other public service benefits) will appeal to some.

It’s scandalous that the feel they can offer a wage this insulting with a straight face.
