Did mine on windblown 100' larches - giant pick up sticks!. Covered a lot of assessing for tensions, felling severe leans, staying safe / planning it and changing plans as the timber does the unexpected. Also covered using winches to holding root plates / counteracting tension. Outside that, if you've cs 32 there's just a couple of different ways of using step cuts and possible ways to work with machines on site.

Windblown trees can be hard work. I cut my teeth in forestry by doing months of it. Was never put through my ticket though. I don't know if it would be of value to me now unless its related to storm work in the arb field

If you dont already have cs 32 medium trees then try and get a combined course of cs 32 followed cs 34 then you only have to pay for 1 days assessing. just helps to keep the cost down

im not really interested in doing the tickets. ive felled alot of medium/big trees so i dont see the point in getting the ticket. as for cs34 i was wondering as there is storm work around what techniques are involved. i take it its all groundwork right?

I wonder if CS34 cover techniques of taking down a huge leaner with greenhouses, sheds and houses underneath them?

if it was a 34 tree there woud'nt be a green house,shed or houses.:bawling:
