First time posting and pretty useless on my trees! Lots of these planted around where I live in Cardiff and was wondering if its just a cherry blossom? I can find plenty of pink blossoms in the garden centre but none of this dark pink/red variety which is making me wonder if its something else? Can anyone help me out? Thanks!

@Paul in the woods I think you are right looking at the online images. Brilliant! Thank you for your replies. And yes, council has planted loads of these around and they look beautiful right now so want to plant one at the front of my house. Thanks again :)
