Struggling to id the tumbled down dead things, look similar to nettle and willow herb but I don't think it's either. Better pic of the leaves and flower structure on them would help.

Not really important as either way a directed application of glyphosate will work. Painted on at a 50:50 watered down mix stirred into wallpaper paste means it only gets what you put it on.

Or applied to the leaves with a gloved hand

Here’s one in the snow a couple of weeks ago, we moved in on 21st dec (four kids) and no heating so that was my first priority. Ive opened up 3/6 fire places and put stoves in to give us heat. I’ve fitted an lpg combi to get me started but intend on fitting a wood gasification boiler in the next few months. Started stock piling fire wood.. for down the line (once its seasoned) no idea how long Itl last me yet.

Cheers!! Yeah built in 1865. That’s Tinto hill in the photo. In the bedroom I knew there would have been an old fire place so I managed to find it then hack off all the old lime plaster before cleaning it up and restoring the stone before repointing.. still got a fair bit to repoint.. but it’s a start

Thanks! Appreciate the positive comments. I’m restoring it all back to how it should have been kept before it was “modernised”. Doing all the work myself so it will take a bit of time!

You repointing that stone then? I think its raked out to a spot on depth and looks sweet gap wise! Be tempted to leave it as it is. Pics may be deceiving to me though gap wise, always looks different when your stood looking at it in the flesh. Is it a listed building?
