MS201 problem

Hi,

I've been struggling with my ms201 for a while. Its a few years old now and starts fine but after 5 or 10 mins use it starts bogging down and will cut out sometimes, once it's cuts out it's impossible to start again, You can leave it for 15 mins then will start again.

I've put a new carb on and even done a vacuum test and had no leaks, not sure where to look next?

Thanks for any help

Blocked tank vent ?

I'd go with tank vent. You can check the fuel system  by draining the tank and taking the fuel filter off. Put the fuel cap on and disconnect the fuel line from the carburettor. Attach the fuel line to the vacuum tester and try to pull a vacuum, it shouldn't hold vacuum but will hold pressure.

Also stick a new spark plug in as I've had them fail when hot but work when cold. It usually has a lot quicker failure/reset cycle than you're having.

If that doesn't work then I'd go down the road of something else getting hot like the ignition module or something. Buy a can of freezer spray and get it hot to the point it fails then spray one thing at a time with the freezer spray and try to start it again.

Thanks for getting back to me.

I've already put a new spark plug and fuel filter on.

I did try to blow back through the vent yesterday and seemed fine but I may of just unblocked it. I will stick a new one on and check for blockages and get back to you with an update
