Portland braid vs double esterlon

looking for feedback from people who have used both these ropes as im wondering wether to bother spending the extra or not on the double esterlon.

and i also like portland braid.........

 

but which is best? theres only one way to find out..............................

the double esterlon. im not so concerned about the strength, more how the cheaper rope runs through hardware etc.

I use double esterlon, its lovely. Nothign could move smoother through the hardware!!

 

And if its stronger then its got to be the one to go for? The only other factor is stretch, but its not too stretchy, maybe for sppedlines it is but for rigging its ok.

What size are you going for? 13mm is really nice. 16 will do everything and 19 is ok, but I hardly ever use it.

19mm is heavy and is no good for my new RC-2000, must get a 13mm.

13 is great! I had 16's only for years and managed fine but that is what got me into using slings so much as its easier to than tieing the 16.

 

13 is great though, easy to tie. And I'm gettign more into just tieing, it has a more natural feel to it than slings, more minimalist!!
