Oil Stoves

Recommended Posts

I know it's not wood stove related but I am wondering if anyone has any experience with Oil stoves, I am thinking about a bubble stove or Harmony h11.
I have had enough of all the hassle involved in my villager Chelsea wood burner, and all the years of cutting and storing logs.
My Chelsea is 5kw and although the Harmony is also 5kw as well, I get a lot of heat from my Chelsea when I ramp it right up, I would imagine it's well over 5kw, and not sure how the oil stove will compare.
Anyone have an opinion on them ?

We had one in kitchen with back boiler to heat some radiators, bloody thing had to be turned up so high to heat rads it would chuck out so much heat you couldn't stay in kitchen.

So yes they chuck out some heat, if you light them wrong they chuck out one hell of a smell.

They are a bit like a wood burner as in you put more wood on and open up draft and it slowly heats up, in it case turn control nob up and slowly gets hotter with out having to cart more wood in.

Cheers for that, I had visions of paying out to get it fitted and then finding it wasn't up to the job, they aren't exactly cheap things to buy.
We have a Webasto clone heating my boys static caravan on diesel and for 4-5kw output it uses virtually bugger all diesel.
The stoves appear to be quite economical as well.
