AVANT LOG PROCESSOR

Hi Does anyone have and use an avant log processor, if so are they worth it and how do they compare with the more know log processors.  I have had a quote of 6K plus for this attachment?

Yes, I have one. I brought it without the conveyor  and instantly regretted it. I then fitted an old eliet conveyor to it.

I would say you need at least a 5 series machine to run it.

It's good, although I have bent the knife once or twice on some knotty stuff that ends up going to one side of it and pushing it over.

But overall, it's a great bit of kit. Made by Japa 

My one uses hydraulic fluid as chain lube, the new ones have a dedicated chain oil tank

lack of guarding and safety is worrying. Pushing logs into that chainsaw bar while the other hand holds it up.  

 

Not good.

There seems to be two different machines there. The guy splitting into the trailer seems to have taken a bit of guarding off.

Probably similar specs to the japa 305 machine then.
