Fungi Identity- a tester!

Recommended Posts

If anyone gets this right i will be most impressed, these threads like saffron spice are well referenced in major publications so start looking!

Its taken me a while to find this one out for myself, and I am interested to see if anyone else has come to the same conclusion as me. not cos I am a smart arse, but i just like to know that others share opinion, or have alternative evidance as to its REAL identity.:001_rolleyes:

its out doors in a wood, a fallen beech, failure due to Ganoderma australe, just wasnt quite enough power in the flash hence the vignetting

Surely not!!!!!!!!!!!!!:001_huh:

was the Gano not trying to help the tree stay up, when it unfortunately failed due to some other unknown cause??:001_tt2::laugh1::lol:

It might help if i was to say that this is not a disease or rather wasnt a disease in this beech as aside from the G australe infection it was healthy and was able to deal with the latent invader, induced by the death and failure of the wood, allowing latent propogules to begin their feast!
