Silver Birch advice

I had been asked to come out and have a look at this silver birch that has recently had a height reduction (not sure by how much not my work and also had been pollarded previously) and there was still a fair bit of dead wood left on it and some rotten/decaying areas, is the tree to far gone to be recovered or do you recommend anything that can be done to help?

Nonsense Khriss.

All depends on how much the clients wants to retain.

That’ll take a Retopping no bother.

You can start another cycle under those rot pockets, or just go back to previous growth.

Is it worth waiting a year to see how it reacts to the height reduction?, i wouldn’t say immediate action was required
