Replacement conifer

Question

Hi there.

looking for ideas for an evergreen replacement for an old conifer at the front of my house. Some privacy would be good but not essential. Aesthetics important and not looking to spend a fortune. Within 2-3 metres of the house in terms of roots.

thanks
Simon

As will be setting up a sanctuary this year for them, he will not be welcome, tho walkies will be available.  K

Hi

Wouldn't recommend a cherry as they have very shallow roots ..  often near or a surface level! Pretty tree though... Have you considered a crab apple... great tree for a small space.. spring blossom & autumn winter berry...birds love them and you are able to prune them to keep to size and shape ?
