I got one for my birthday las week, I tried it out down in the yard with some birch bark, It was very impressive how quickly it boiled compared to a camping stove for example. But I don't suppose I'll use it often, just on woodland jobs where there's no client to hassle for a cuppa. Handy tool to have in the car though, especially in weather like this.:001_smile:

They are very good. I haven't used the gas ring in over 2 years since I got a Kelly. It makes just enough boiling water for a big brew/cuppasoup with enough water left to wash the cup and spoon.

I have to say that even as one who considered becoming a professional arsenist, I have had more trouble lighting it than anything else ever. It is a bit of an art form. Any tips?

have you tried keeping a little tin with some dry tinder etc in it? Generallly I havent had too many problems getting it going, even in heavy rain. Cycle inner tubes make a good fire starter, slice them up thinly to make em last! It can be a bit of a faff compared to the instant flame with a gas stove, but it is more fun.
