Stihl 028

Hi,

Have an old Stihl 028 and the exhaust gave with rust. I'm looking all over and can't seem to find one. Does any place do them or do any other exhausts from other chainsaws fit the 028? Any help greatly appreciated.

I’m not 100% sure but i dont think that all the 028 variations will fit each other. I’m sure i’ve read bits before about the 028 and people struggling to source one. Could be a lucky 2nd hand find or maybe a purchase from across the pond that’ll sort ya. Is yours completely shot or could someone braise/weld what youve got?

Keep an eye on Ebay they pop up from time to time, there 2 pieces which bit on yours has rusted through

Both sides gone I'm afraid. Did a bit of reading and I read a forum piece that you can modify a 036 exhaust in some way? Don't know how true this is as I could only find it in one place.

They are as rare as hen's teeth, no longer available from Stihl along with many other parts for this saw. They do pop up on eBay now and then but usually the people selling them know how rare they are and command a good price. For some reason the Chinese have never produced this exhaust. Youre best off buying a full spares or repairs machine off eBay, keeping the bits you want and re selling the rest.

The second spares/repairs one has his number to make offer it could be also a proper runner.

If not either take out back part or make a template then one of us could make/mod one of the other cans to fit or weld to old fitting.
