Why.....can't work that out, grave digging may be more appropriate!

Fortunately, I don't sail close to the wind and with age comes experience and with experience comes inner strength and knowledge to deal with stuff life throws at you!

I am self employed and fit the criteria so expect payment as per the support directive some time in June.....a first for me but work has fallen off a cliff edge and may last a fair time.

How were you contacted?
By who and when?

Not sure regards the Se side but we're eligible for the £10k from the SBRR grant scheme. Checked on the local authority website, and had to fill in a claim form, they hadn't notified us that you needed to do this, I was originally under the impression that as its rates related they were just going to sort it. Anyway got an email confirming receipt of application, now awaiting some cash...

With the 80% for PAYE you've got to wait for the new HMRC portal to be up and running, supposedly soon, before you can confirm staff as furloughed and then claim back March and each month thereafter, April May if still off work.

No news yet on what the scoop is for SE other than you'll get 3 months (March, April, May) money in June (80% of your average trading profit  for the years 16-17, 17-18. 18-19 divided by 36 x 3 ) regardless of whether your able to work or not, how they haven't said yet.

Edit I'm going to see about doing asparagus picking tomorrow, 'til the end of June.

We were contacted on 1st April, as promised, by the local council in respect of the grant to rateable business. It took only a few minutes to fill in the on line application and the money should be on  its way to our account.
£10k does seem a lot of dosh, but it is a one off grant (gift, as it does not need repaying). It will go along way towards paying the business overheads of rent, insurance, utilities etc for 3 or 4 months.
But we are a Ltd Company and there is no provision for company directors in the current aid package, unlike the 80% income that that the self employed have.
If I was running as a "sole trader" rather than a Ltd Company I would have the £10k to keep the business afloat AND a wage based on the average of 3 years profits.
As it stands we will be living off our savings.
One bonus though, living frugally for two weeks has let me lose 1/2 stone!!

I’m also a company director but as long as you produce for the company you are still classed as employed. From what my office has told me you can furlong your self. This will be what’s happing to me as well if I can’t secure jobs for the week after next.

Do you pay your self through divadince?
