Go for the fimble saver if spar work is your main concern.

It's a lot less money and less of a hit if you happen to put your spike into it..

Also I prefer a little friction when climbing mrt. Also better for srt tip set up.

I read that the eyes are smaller in the fimble than multi, but haven't actually seen one in the flesh to compare. Would be interested if someone who has put them side by side could say.

I wanted to be able to get my 13mm rope splice through, it's snug but fits on the multi.

I recently got to compare them and yes the eyes on the fimble saver are bigger than fimble climb. Also got to have a go with using a couple pulley savers for positioning in a big beech, was great

Have the fimble climb and pulley saver. Both great tools, the fimbl climb sounds better for what you describe though. It's easily adjusted to stem size and makes a good backup beneath your lanyard. This is my primary use for it. That and smaller trees or species with tighter forks, eg limes, as it's a bit easier on retrieval.

If you use a rope which is over 11mm or doesn't have a slice or similar constant diameter eye then the fimbl saver, as said, has slightly bigger eyes.

An advantage of the fimbl climb/saver over the multi saver is it has steel eyes rather than aluminium. Less easily damaged if you rattle it on to a hard surface on retrieval.
