SOR help, root pruning

Hi All,

Just wondered what the going rate is for root pruning, currently filling out a big tender and just wondered what the average rate was.  I have never done root pruning and I am sure the client never will have it done either.  It is for a housing association, I have got loads of HA's on my books and never once has anyone bothered with root pruning, but still need to come up with a cost.

Your help on the matter gentlemen, is as always, extremely helpful and appreciated

How does root pruning actually work/what equipment is used?

Never knew it is done intentionally apart from in tree nurseries.....

EDIT: Seems they use things like theese etc on golf courses etc to protect grass from competition from tree roots

Typically when we undertake root pruning it is to mitigate root encroachment to a building or proposed construction etc. Our specification is usually excavate the area with an airspade and prune all roots by hand with a sharp, disinfected hand saw.

I know a lot of other people use a mini digger to excavate and then just tidy up the ripped and broken roots with a handsaw, however i feel that there is a lot going on that you cant see doing it this way and you can do lots of damage to roots very easily with a digger.

Trenching saw on boundary in some of our cases , slip a depth of 600mm plastic liner in with pea shingle. Subsidence claim is often some shitty 3x3 extension but it stands in mitigation . K
