comp standard trees

im thinking about having a reccy climb on some trees near me, with a view to making it a regular thing, and also having the possibility of using them for a competition.

this probably wont happen til the summer, but id like a good idea of who might be interested, as it can be made into a weekend event if theres enough peeps.

anyone who knows said competition standards (size,width,localities) would be verily welcome. :thumbup1:

I fyou want to run a proper comp then it would best to contact the ISA, they will give you the support you need. Theres is a lot more to it than just finding a location.

 

If you just want to practice in trees (which is my understanding of what you need/want) then you just need to find some large open crown trees, preferably not single stem, Oak, beech etc are good, and get practicing.

 

I would suggest you need a few years experience in comps before thinking about settign up your own.
