Jappa 300 problems?

Is it definitely the right chain for the bar? I have seen the wrong one put in the box before and if it's lose in your spare bar it could be slightly too narrow. Also work double checking all the teeth are the same length if you've been struggling to sharpen.

 

I use an old bar screwed into the side of the workbench to sharpen by the way. It saves playing around with a vice each time.

I de railed and debured the bar this morning fitted a new chain and she ran all day perfect

still not sure which one of the two was causing the problem,but I guess I now know the bar needs to be spot on aswell as the chain,I will get a spare bar ordered up,so not to loose any time,the other thing I was warned of was trying to put to much pressure on the lever when cutting, trying to force the chain through the wood quicker will wear the bar out quicker than anything ,as he got a point? ps I am useing the corect bar and chains,I have checked and double checked.

For sharpening I put a spare bar in a vice with the chain on and tension it with a bungee cord.

Glad you got it sorted. Yes, never push harder than its cutting, the excess force will push the chain against the rails of the bar harder.

 

I've found nearly all bar wear comes from trying to cut with a blunt chain. It's always tempting to try and finish without changing a chain. ?

Yeh thats me rushing to get finished before it gets dark,any ideas on getting a spare bar online, struggling to referance it to anything the same,the oil outlets are a tear drop shape rather that round , just thinking the round holes may not match up with the oiler,I could get one local but very expencive there.

What bar are you using. If you give us the Husqvarna part  number someone will cross reference it

Yes here we go...oregon  130txlbk095 h7  13" .050/1.3cm  .325-56  I think its for a Husky saw, Its an aliminium core lamanated job,and has these tear drop oil outlets,never seen them before...Thanks

£25 plus vat from chainsaw bars.co.uk, same bar as lots of husky saws such as 346etc just in .050 width
