Hi, first post, been looking for years but didn't seem to have anything to offer, and now this post is trying to sell you something.

I have a Brook 240V single phase 50Hz 11kW motor I am not going to use. Comes with the all important split phase start and run capacitors, interlocked contactors and timer. It is 1450 rpm, full load 51A, locked rotor current 200% so very low for starting, locked rotor torque 50%. This motor is heavy! About 120kg, be warned.

I have had a wood for near 20 years, and was going to buy a Lucas saw mill until their prices near doubled from one APF show to the one two years later. At that point I decided to make my own sawmill, I had a single phase 20kVA genset hence the motor. Also picked up a set of band wheels etc, 20" diameter so will give 7500 ft/min at motor speed.

Plans have changed, bought a Logosol Farmer's mill with the bandsaw attachment. I want to do all sawing as quarter sawn, and this will work up to the largest trees I have, 60cm dbh. I have made my own phase converter to run the 6.4kW bandsaw motor.

If it stops raining might actually be able to try it out.
