Colleges and cutting edge don't go together, the staff are often non working arborists who use antiquated techniques (fueled by the requirements of the assessments or plain lazy staff). I am in the camp that this is a poor reflection of the college and marketing team. I'm sure the designer got the proffs signed off apathy will probably be the main cause as with many things in life......

I know Myerscough well enough to know that the kit is up to current standards, that’s why the picture that dropped through my door stood out like a sore thumb.

It would seem that either the marketing department didn’t get the proof’s signed off or whoever signed them off missed a trick. Either way it reflects badly on the college and someone needs telling so that it doesn’t happen again.

I can’t agree about the antiquated techniques. Most teach on prussic loops which is a system that has served this industry well for many a generation.

Certainly there are newer and more technical systems out there but you tend to see learner drivers in a Clio rather than a Ferrari.

Wow, sweeping statement! When did you last visit the college? Be carefull, please dont make your general statements without any knowledge of the work that goes in to trying to keep college students up to date and real world to get them fit for the industry! Especially over a picture that a suited marketing bod approved without consultation!

Don't want an argument but think before you are sure about something when actually you are guessing!:001_tt2:

Believe me, good pictures are sent to them and they are asked when ever we are doing interesting stuff to come out. Did a crane job demo for students a while ago, and it should have been video'd but they didn't want to leave there office!!

There is a poster on a wall in the Preston cinema with a guy climbing on a three strand rope and full body harness! Shocking, and they get told but never learn.

Very annoyed and they will get shouted at this time for making a mockery of the hard work that staff put in.

Battle on and do your best eh.
