Lammas growth, already?

Ah! OSM,

Ah got it I imagine, these same Oaks had been burnt black earlier this year by a bitterly cold North wind, which came  after an unseasonally early heat wave here in Co. Antrim.

And this is simply the regrowth/recovery growth.

I saw the combines going in today so the timing is about right (though it was probably barley rather than wheat for the first loaf)

All the barley is cut here . waiting on the oats and rape now . My mate was only cutting the barley between 7:00 and 10:00 am to keep the moisture up !  Don't think we see the driers going this year ...

My father would have appreciated that irony, having to time the cutting to keep the grain moist.
