Had cause to drive along the 272 today , the stretch from Petersfield to Winchester . Quite a few beautiful and majestic Copper Beech  as you drive along . They are inter spaced, randomly, with green leafed Beech .  Worth a drive on a Sunday just to take them in .

Sounds great.  That's the stretch of the 272 I don't do; if I'm heading west I'm starting on the Surrey/Kent border so keep north - M3>A303.

It was quite relaxing . The road , as you know is a favorite with bikers , ( I used to use it my self with the " breakfast club  " and stop at the West Meon Hut .  Today we were all driving sensibly 50 40 30 mph as directed .  Gave time to take in the lovely trees that they are .
