2 beach, affected by this fungi which i havent been able to ident, would much appreciate some knowledge. These to beauts are on a hill, last year we removed 2 large ones at the bottom of the hill exposing these two beauts. One has beach burn and both have the fungi. There was no fungi present on the two removals and this present fungi looks in early stages. 20190304_123040.jpeg20190304_122757.jpeg

A different story is beginning to appear with those last photos.

It looks like the two lateral roots have been damaged and there's some dysfunction. Which would point towards a saprophytic fungi. As Jules said(and I missed) is that they're brackets - So not KD. You need a good close up for identification, including the underside of the cap.

Edit: When the other trees were felled, did something strike the root buttress?

Hey bud. Would the root exposure be erosion from the tree being on a sloped wet hill? This is sweden also[emoji28]. And the homeowner using the lawnmower on the roots over time damaging and opening it up to this?

We rigged out both crowns, timber was removed by crane. Nought touched the ground without control.
