Anyone know of any foreman supervisor courses?

Hello,

My boss has asked me to look for any management courses aimed at people working in the forestry/ arboriculture sector for me to attend to aid me in my development at work. My current job role is that of a foreman which involves supervising and organising work crews, carrying out risk assessments and following health and safety guidelines in relation to working operations. Does anybody know of any courses which might be suitable for me? Additionally if you do have you or any of your colleagues had experience going on them?

Pretty sure there aren’t any arb specific ones.

SSSTS would have some useful content.

Marks right, that’s about as close as your going to get I think, it’s worth doing and not mega difficult but it is generic, managing people is pretty much the same what ever the trade

 I did this many yrs ago when I worked on the council - it was a good course - I don't know if they do it now but they may do something similar National Examination Board of Supervisory Studies

Mine was different in some ways. I think it was  block release - ie 1 or 2 weeks per collage  term time. Classroom work of course but we also went on 2, 2 day so called character building weekends in the lake district .That bit was fun. Building a raft with limited resources to cross an estuary, abseiling into caverns, going out at 11 0 clock at night in the pouring rain - putting a sack on your head and trying  to get to a meeting point.

Fountains do one for all their supervisors, it’s run by Martin Lennon. I’m pretty sure he does for other people other than fountains.
