low revving 372xp

hi my  husky 372xp  starts fine and idles but only seems to be running at half revs when pull the trigger ? have cleaned the carb  put in new spark plug and  fuel tank filter . any  idea what to look at next ? any help would be greatfull

Check the throttle cable is not frayed and catching on the outer stopping you getting full movement . I had this once , on a 372 as it happens .

The later 372xp has a blue governed ignition unit, if something has gone wrong internally in the unit, it is possible it is holding the revs back, just a thought assuming the throttle is opening fully.

thanks for the advice guys checked the throttle cable working properly . yes has the blue ignition coil will take the exhaust off and see what thats like .  did notice  seems to be using a bit more fuel than normal  but not sooting up the plug.
