Oh that's a massive PITA. Looking at a 5t plated 6x6 Sprinter and the prospect of having to site a C1 + E isn't filling me with joy.

The daft thing is that the last few weeks I've been on the road in the forestry tractor, sometimes towing 10t behind me!

J just do your class 1, covers all your bases and needs. Your a man to push boundaries and create opportunities for yourself, can see that from all your threads. You’ll make use of it for defo [emoji106]

You cant just do your class 1. You have to take C first, then CE.

Budget about £2.5-3k

But then you cant go straight to C1E either.

The full process is as follows:-

Order D2 & D4 forms

Take medical

Apply for provisional

Take mod 1a & Mod 1b tests (LGV theory & hazard)

Take Mod 3 practical test.

IF you need CPC

Take Mod 2 test

Take Mod 4 test

You cant do it that quick.

You have to pass C1 then send licence off.

When it comes back then take C1E.

It's still daft that I can jump into a tractor with a train weight of about 18-19t and drive that on a car licence. Stupid laws.

Yep! 16yr old KIDS in big rigs (and i’m going to swear now) is FUCKING scary!!! Should have something written in to laws and tests by now.

Not at all.

The tractor is an exemption.

Plus a tractor at 30mph has less energy that a car & trailer at 60mph.

Never mind a 7.5 toner running with trailer up to 12000kg.

Travels far less distance & hours on the road too.
