hi eveyone, just looking for a bit of advice on cambium savers. I've had my eye on steins one but know there are a few other makes on the market and wondered if there is any real diference in them?

any advice appreciated

if you go for a conventional cambium saver, id go for one with an oval mallion + big eye rather than a little eye + big eye, as stitched eyes dont fit through a little eye, but do fit through an oval mallion

the sirius looks a good concept, very nice but after a more conventional design. thanks bob.

i'm more just wandering if there is anything i have overlooked as when choosing climbing ropes there are alot of factors to consider but not so much to consider with a friction saver if you know what i mean.

would the stein be a reasonable choice?

Thanks

good steer on the multi saver bob cool bit of kit

kev

i personally think they are worth the extra although beware the 0.7m one does not have the adjustable ring and the 1m is about £18 more

but the normal ones inc the stien are pretty good for the money

You could get a conventional(non adjustable) to start and then add on a prussic/ring if required later. They are available seperately or can be made.Hope that is what you meant.

You can have my Stein when I've bought a ropeguide Dave. If I'd known at the time I'd have bought the ropeguide instead of the saver.

Fancy a little rec climb over the break? Perhaps we could get a few more to come along, bacon butties, bit of climbing then a couple of jars.
