Chainsaw boots n trousers needed

Looking for some chainsaw boots uk size 12 or 13 and possibly trousers uk size 32 or 34, just for some domestic work and know you guys need your kit to be 100% so happy to make use of your kit that’s not up to scratch , live in Lanarkshire area , if you can help pm me with how much your looking for it

You dont live on Cushnie farm do you? I used to live at the first cottage at the bottom of the road when I was a kid. When the Mitchells owned Castleton Farm.

how do i tell if i have water in diesel for tractor - valtra running great yesterday, fuel last night and a bag of bolts today until i gave up. open tap on fuel filter and brown rusty goop comes out into clean tray and lots of droplets i guess are water. 

 

took a sample out of fuel station tonight into a jar - what could i look for tommorow?

 

tractor went from near dead to pulls great after i drained filter by the tap on bottom.

how do i tell if i have water in diesel for tractor - valtra running great yesterday, fuel last night and a bag of bolts today until i gave up. open tap on fuel filter and brown rusty goop comes out into clean tray and lots of droplets i guess are water.

The fuel and water will sit / separate apart from one another, water is more dense than fuel so will sit lower. You will find the dirty rusty water in the bottom of your jar with the diesel sat on the top after a nights rest / settling.

Presumably if you have opened a tap, then you will more than likely have a water separator filter / primary fuel filter arrangement separate from a main fuel filter. For peace of mind and best practice, if you have found water / rusty shite at separator / primary filter, then you should fully drain off all contaminated fuel from said filter AND also change your main fuel filter. The fact you have noticed such significant power losses suggests you’ve had quite a dose of it in your fuel system.

I’m not familiar with Valtra set up personally but i’m sure others on here are and will be along to offer more advice shortly [emoji106]

As above, drain out all water out of the fuel tank as well you should have a drain at the bottom but if forestry guarded it may be difficult or impossible to get to! Also change water separator and main fuel filter as said above

no gaurding so i feel a read of manual in order to get to tank drain.

 

see if i can persuade boss to order new filters. 

 

after draining at primary filter its like a new machine so must have a fair old dose in there.

While we are on the subject, how often do the chainsaw trousers need to be washed? Once a year or every two years?
