Hi guys,

I've just purchased this Iveco truck and want to change the arb body and maybe cab to black. The man I bought it from said that the arb body was re gel coated green within the past year.

I'm on a tight budget, and would like to do this job myself to keep costs down. I will be panelling the sides and back, so they will be fresh aluminium. I might also be interested in painting the cab black too, I would like it to have a shine.

If anyone could advise me on a cost effective way to get a decent finish that would be great.

Thanks,

Rudi.

I'd be pretty careful about painting the cab yourself.  Seen several home done jobs in the past and they always look crap!

I'm only interested in doing it if I can achieve an acceptable finish. If it's something I can do in a weekend and it looks good, then I'm happy to do it myself.

Cheers Steve.

take a hot air gun to the plastic bumper and it'll bring the oils to the surface again which makes it proper black again. just make sure you do it evenly and the result is incredible!

Is black a good colour to go for? It will show every imperfection, and seems to get dirtiest the quickest.
