Wheel Sizes.

I'm dreaming about changing the wheels on my Hot Rod, the old ones have badly pitted chrome, and as the tyres (295!) need changing I thought I'd price up the wheels.

What's the science to measuring wheels to ensure you get a price for a direct replacement?

measurments you will need are

rim width

of set

pcd measurment (meaurement between 2 opposite wheel studs)

then if you go bigger rim diameter then you will have to get a lower profile tyre to stop tyres rubbing against chassis or body

if you need some help im sure one of the race car chassis builders will help you out

if you go on http://www.eurodragster.com most of them have links to there websites in the home page

maybe this helps

Is it possible to re-chrome wheels where the band is heavily pitted and the centre is alloy? Don't know enough to comment, any idea of cost?

Check this link out mate, I dont think they can re chrome in the E.U due to the chemicals involved, This link explains it better
