DIY firewood bagger

Finished off my firewood bagger project last night. Can’t really take any credit for the design as I just googled some images of what I was generally after. Had most of the stuff lying around so was a cheap build ?

Looks good but if you’re planning to use net bags on it you may find because of the chequer plate the bags catch as you put them on and off the bagger. Rob

Tried it this evening with net bags and it doesn’t snag. The chequering is smoother than some I’ve seen though. ?

How much did it cost to make? Oh and how many hours? Cheers

Would say around 4 hours including painting. As for cost I couldn’t guess as I used stuff I had already.But If you counted a length of 1” box section at £20 and then £10 for other bits you wouldn’t be far away

I bought one a firewood bagger years ago (when they were cheaper!) and it was one of the best purchases I’ve made, since then I’ve made two smaller versions for my kindling out of scrap wood and chipboard. I used candle wax on the edges of the chipboard to smooth out any potential snag points after I’d sanded them.
Didn’t cost me anything other than about an hour of my time.
