I had a quick read and that only seems to apply to trailers built prior to 1940s and less than 4 tonnes, even then it looks like speed is below 10mph.  I don't think it's relevant in this case.

I think best thing for most would be buy the manufacturers trailer. I’ll be building one, longer and with brakes so it’ll be over 750kg but I’ll be running it as trailed implement  unable to be broken down any smaller.

I wont be going for type approval and I’ll let you know how I get on with that in the future.

Your going to build a trailer and not get it tested. There goes your insurance.

No I’m building a trailed implement. Woodland mills sell these in the uk and people are running them legally as has been said on here. They have no type approval.

So does Norwood. Logosol make one for the B1001 and the B751 one will come next year. But they stipulate they may not be road legal in your country as they sell them internationally. They sell them as off-road use but can be used on the highway.

I checked this re firewood processors and them being "plant". They don't come under that exemption. I think but need to check but trailed implement is an agri exemption so would not apply.

This is interesting

Unbraked Trailers

Weights

The laden weight of an unbraked trailer used on the road must not exceed its maximum gross weight. It may only be towed by a vehicle whose kerbside weight is at least double the unladen weight of the trailer together with the weight of any load the trailer is carrying.

Agricultural trailers and gritting trailers not exceeding 2000kg maximum gross weight and trailers under 750kg gvw are exempt from these requirements. Trailers outside these categories must be fitted with brakes if their laden weight exceeds half the towing vehicle’s kerbside weight.  From here https://app.croneri.co.uk/topics/construction-and-use-vehicles-and-trailers/indepth

A quick read of the regs and a trailed appliance is actually an Agricultural Trailed appliance to be exempt.

To be exempt from what?
