one of the firms round our way was started by the bloke who owns it when he was a copper and he just did it on his off days and then went full time arb. He now has four or five wagons on the road and had just geared up for site clearances when the bottom fell out of the house building market.:thumbdown:

That will be Bardsey tree services then, he has been going since the early

90s so has had a fair crack of the whip work wise with the site clearance work. also having a few wagons on the road means when things get tight its harder to cover costs, i come up agains them quite a lot and beat them on price 9 times out of 10 only because my overheads are lower. A good firm with a good reputation. Like ME.:thumbup1:

Cant see the big issue to be honest with people doing it part time, they cant compete with regular firms, most dont have the knowledge or machinery to do bigger jobs and they can only work days off, it's only the same as me getting a burger van and going floggin burgers on a weekend in a layby, loades of people have part time jobs, no big deal.

 

 

Woodpicker has a second job, he floggs his arse on street corners on a weekend:lol:

Moved a 2 day job to next week mate as the little one was ill yesterday and have to go see some work later thats why im tossin it off, busy tomorrow and friday knocking a big sycamore down. why you at home though?
