I thought Esse was originally Scottish? Scottish lads who went to the US, learned about Stoves and Casting then came back to Glasgow and opened a Foundry?

You are perfectly correct,    after a successful period in the USA the wife of the founder was ill so they came back to UK and started production here in 1854.

I just noticed you wrote made and designed in England since 1854. Should that not be Scotland then?

Arguably yes,    but they have been in Barnoldswick since God was a boy,
