when you bought them did you not get a small jar of meindl boot care (dubin/wax) in the box with them ? if not its some sort of dubin or neatsfoot oil which is a oil that is applied to horses hooves to make em shine my last pair of boots now 5 year old where always done with neatsfoot oil and have lasted well, started to fall apart inside now but still wearing them and the soles still have good tread on but its forestry work so all ways on the soft stuff and not tarmac,

I got a little pot in the box with the black woodwalkers. My wife bought me the biggest pot of dubbin from Amazon, it's the really wet stuff that soaks in better than the solid dubbin. I try to take a crap pair of boots with me for clearing up or hedge cutting/bramble work. That's what shreds the boots quickly?
