Long-term exposure, especially thorough direct contact with skin during wood treatment or manufacture of coal tar creosote-treated products, to low levels of creosote has resulted in skin cancer and cancer of the scrotum

I treat creosote with the respect due to any powerful tool.

P.S.

I saw somewhere that the statistically higher incidence of testicular cancer  among young male mechanics, compared to the non-mechanics, was due to a combination of unwashed oil soaked coveralls and the popularity of pocket billards among the younger males.
