London tree tour

Hi,

 

I am going to London in a few weeks.
Could someone recommend a nice tree tour ?
I am interested in rare species, especially oaks.
I will move using the subway.

@David Humphries patch seems good.  Are you looking at inner city trees?  Is Kew on the agenda?

Yes, only trees accessible by the subway.
I am not going to Kew, as I have only half a day.

On the opposite side of the Thames is Syon Park. They've got quite a few of the lesser know oaks like canariensis, dentata and a few others I can't quite remember. 

 

Gunnersbury Park just up the road also has some interesting oaks, if they haven't been eaten by the opm by now. 

 

But as you're not venturing out that far, they'll have to wait until you've got more time.

I am currently hesitating between Gunnersbury Park, Battersea Park and Cannizaro Park.
