Yeah, its a different market. But take a new TW - £15k? a new 10" bandit or morbark -£20k? not a lot more for a HUGE difference in performance.

Fair comment, but you've also got the weight of the machine to think about. A 10" Bandit must weigh around the 2 ton mark? Not ideal if you've got a transit type truck.

Actually meant where was the pic.:)

As for the chipper, thats MWEN's musmax...?

IMHO, a pile of crap. its only 16" capacity but is as big as a 30yard skip. Also produces vast amounts of fines and dust, and needs a hooklift trailer just to move it round.

yes a mus-max MWF (MWEN)

16" x 30" (he chips a lot of wood waste for small saw mills etc)

its on a hook lift body as he spec it to fit his hook lift trailer & trucks witch he uses for other things as well, they do come on a normal trailer if needed ;)

if you put 40m3+ of solid wood threw per hour your going to get a little bit of dust, however i would say that at the speed wood is turned to chip you don’t get much dust being ejected from the cyclone separator and I have seen a lot more dust coming from chippers ¼ of the size ;)

My bad. Pile of crap is rude and not accurate. I would however say that even the trailed engined models are much bigger than they need to be. and 16 x 30 is not great for chipping round wood. I also dont like the way the whole engine tilts on an air ram to engage the drive, nor the need for a huge propshaft, nor the open top on the engine 'shed'.

Just call it personal preferance.

By comparison, one of my coneheads would fill a 125 m3 truck in 50 minutes... with 40 hp less.
