using chalk to stop pine sap f**king s**t up

saw a video a few months ago of some guy using chalk on pine cut (presumably to prevent sap getting everywhere)

just wondering if anyone has used this or something similar?

You can use silicon spray on yr tools n saws to stop it sticking. But careful where you spray it-Not on the exhaust box ! K

Not anywhere you want to grip either, that stuff is the work of the devil for making things slippery.

I did say be careful ! Cant remember the chemistry  with silicon, but is the devil fr welding. So nowhere near anything that gets hot. K

I think that was August Hunicke, I think it would work pretty good for drying it up, or at least creating a barrier between the sap and your gear.
