Not anywhere you want to grip either, that stuff is the work of the devil for making things slippery.

saw a video a few months ago of some guy using chalk on pine cut (presumably to prevent sap getting everywhere)
just wondering if anyone has used this or something similar?

I think that was August Hunicke, I think it would work pretty good for drying it up, or at least creating a barrier between the sap and your gear.
