Hello everyone, I am looking into buying a Greenmech CS100 chipper so I can used the material to make compost. I need most of the material to be around an inch in size so I can have good airflow. Can anyone using this machine confirm this?  If at least half of the material coming out the other end is around an inch,  am good to go. Also if you know of anyone selling a machine like this let me know please.

Thank you, I appreciate your time.

When Luckyeleven talks about shreddies, we spent 2 days pollarding limes near Paris this Winter.

Mountains of beautiful pale square chip, produced. This I can bag and sell for 50+euros per m3

We did once try putting bamboo through the CS100, it came out in 3 long splinters, horrible stuff!

Tell you what Stu, those bamboo darts do right well in an auger fed biomass Plant! I did some willow sticks for a chap in the Welsh Borders thinking it was a waste of time. These came out like darts but they went through the the auger, much to my amazement! I ate a big bowel of Umble Pie, apologised for being a doubter, and left the machine with him!

With sharp blades and well adjusted, chip quality is usually quite good on a CS100.

It’s fine on stuff like syc and oak, but I found with mine species like birch, yew. and pittosporum it would fire out long stringy sections, that’s with correct anvil adjustment and good blades. But was a good little chipper though!
