RPA for a pollard

I think I’d have to agree with Jules, in that the set aside soil volume is available for the potential canopy volume. 

 

Things might be different where there there was a plan to repollard on a short cycle, managing and maintaining a small canopy rather than allowing the tree to reach its full unchecked potential.

 

This has become a good, thought provoking topic.
